Check In 15 weeks

355 miles miles without one fossil fuel burning up!  Wow, that feels good.

I'm kinda excited about an opportunity I saw on the social networks.
Check this out.  It's called Strive Not to Drive.
LOVE!  It's just a tiny little time frame, not all crazy like one year.
It's so doable friends and what an amazing time of year to put yourself to the challenge.
I fully support you in this endeavor.

Spring!  It's everywhere!  We planted strawberries.  Yum.  Can you imagine, the best part of strawberry shortcake right in your back yard. Love it!

Enjoy this glorious day.

Check In 14 weeks

330 miles of human generated power!  14 weeks and climbing!  Spring is knocking my socks off! In addition to smooth trekking with the gorgeous weather we have been having, I have been inspired to plant a garden.  First year in many that I have had enough sunlight to do it.  We are very excited to grow our very own tomatoes this year.  Being local can take on so many different forms and some of them are oh so very yummy.  Maybe that is your contribution to your community!  Grow your own garden this summer.

In other excitingly green news, I bought stamps yesterday.  The post office has GO GREEN stamps.  One of them even says ride a bike and another one says share rides. Made me smile.

Hope you are having a fabulous Spring so far.  Remember to soak it up and drink nettle tea, the allergens are crazy right now!

Check in 13 weeks

300 Miles!  Yippee!  I think we have rounded the corned for adversely cold weather and have much biking in our future.  A lot more walking happens when it is frigid, it's just too much to take on a bike. Being mobile on a bike feels so much more free and well, speedy.  So speedy in fact, I will walk just to slow down a little bit more.  I actually saw a great shot yesterday that I didn't take because I was on my bike trying to get somewhere.  Sadness.  It's the journey! (that was my note to self)

SPRING is unfolding right in front of your eyes.  Check it out :)

when your feet are tired, it's nice to have friends to help you out

Check In 12 weeks

12 weeks, 263 miles of guilt free travel!
A little late on the update, my apologies.  We have been so super busy with commuting that I have just been dog tired and have lacked the energy to do anything, non essential.  I logged over 30 miles last week!
It was definitely not all roses on the commuting front.  I was completely disheartened and really lucky when a woman hit me on my bike last week.  She didn't even know she nabbed my elbow!  Thank goodness I am okay.  It feels so frustrating to me that so many people drive around without real awareness of what they are doing.  She wasn't even on the phone!  Friends it's a big responsibility driving a big steel encased vehicle.  Know it's power, please.

In other news, Spring is popping up all over the place!  Soft and fuzzy buds are everywhere.  I hope you get to notice some of them for yourself :D

Enjoy the journey,
